LMNT

One idea, executed properly. Our plain read on how transparent they are about doses and testing — and what their products actually scored.

By the NFS editorial teamLast updated 06 Aug 2026

LMNT does one thing: a high-sodium, zero-sugar electrolyte mix. Whether that is worth your money depends entirely on how much you sweat.

Transparency

The label is as simple as labels get — sodium, potassium, magnesium, flavouring, no sugar, no proprietary blend, no hedging. For a category where "hydration" powders routinely hide a token amount of sodium behind a wall of marketing, that plainness is the product's best feature.

The dose

1,000 mg of sodium per stick sits at the top of the useful replacement range for a hard, sweaty hour, which is why it scores well in our electrolyte ranking. It is also far more sodium than a sedentary person needs, and the brand's own messaging leans harder on "everyone is under-salted" than the evidence comfortably supports. If you are not sweating heavily, this is a lot of salt for the money.

Where we push back

Price. It is one of the most expensive ways to buy sodium and potassium in existence, and the gap between it and a mid-priced competitor is not a formulation gap — it is flavour, branding and convenience. Worth it for some people. Worth knowing that is what you are buying.
